Kotobukiya SDCC 2012 exclusives – X-23 (Angry Edition) & Storm (White Edition)

16 06 2012

I knew it, I knew it, I knew it. When X-23 first got released I questioned why she was sporting a gentle facial expression. I had a hunch SDCC 2012 might have an angry version of her and I was right. I’m so happy I’m going this year cause she will be the first on my list of exclusives to buy.

Another exclusive being released at SDCC 2012 will be Storm in White Suit variant. The wallet is gonna hurt this year.

San Diego Comic-Con 2012 Want List

9 06 2012

In about a month from now, I’ll be down in San Diego once again for Comic-Con. It’s a crazy weekend of constant standing or walking around for conventions exclusives. I’ll have to remember to wear very comfortable shoes. For once I’m not too worried about getting what I want this year. The big dealers: Hasbro and Mattel, have always posted the majority of their exclusives to their online stores days after the Con for the public to buy at convention prices. The smaller companies are the more important to visit at the Con.

I went through the entire list of SDCC 2012 exclusives and my want list that I really need to pick up at the Con is pretty small (Thank God).

Kotobukiya DC Comics Huntress Bishoujo Statue. Not exactly sure if this is a SDCC exclusive but a few online sources report that she is. She’ll be the first figure I pick up.

Hasbro Marvel Legends Uncanny X-Force (Archangel, Psylocke, Wolverine). How bad ass is this box set? Features 3 awesome characters in my favorite versions of their costumes. Don’t want to gamble on this one being sold online after the Con so I’ll hunting this down while I’m attending.

Bandai S.H. Figuarts Supar Saiyan Gohan Special Color Edition. I already own the 1st version which has a much low key, manga style color palette. You figure I’d be very happy about just staying with that version but come on…I’m a diehard DBZ Fan. The Special Color Edition will have more saturated colors and resemble the anime palette more so there’s a good chance I’ll be picking this version.

Hasbro G.I. Joe Jinx. I love me some G.I. Joe ninjas. Jinx will have 2 different versions available: a classic red and a movie version. I’d like to get this at the Con but I’m OK with pass on her and buying her at http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com

For now that’s my want list. Chances are I will buy other toys while I’m there that aren’t exclusives.

And of course, there’s a good chance I’ll be doing video reviews on them too.

R207 Hasbro G.I.Joe Retaliation Movie Wave 2: Snake Eyes Action Figure Review

6 06 2012

This Snake Eyes is one amazing looking action figure from Hasbro. Part of Wave 2 of the G.I. Joe Retaliation Action Figure line, this ninja includes a variety of weapons: 2 swords, 2 knives (I’m missing one), handgun, and sword holders. Very pose-able so putting Snake Eyes in some ninja-like poses is pretty easy. Sports a movie accurate head sculpt, possibly the best head sculpt of Snake Eyes ever (my opinion).

*Due to G.I. Joe Retaliation Movie being pushed back to March 2012, Hasbro is holding off in releasing any wave 2 figures in the US until that time. Overseas toy dealers were able to get this figure before Hasbro’s announcement so this figure is out there. I was able to get this through a friend. Good luck finding it. Try eBay.

Trunks, the son of Vegeta joins the S.H. Figuarts action figure line. Standing 5 inches tall this figure is impressive from head to toe with amazing sculpting and articulation. Includes normal state and Super Saiyan state heads, as well as alternate faces expression parts. He comes with a variety of different types of gesture hands for recreating those awesome moments from the anime/manga. Completing the figure is his trademark sword and scabbard.
