R240 Kotobukiya DC Comics Bishoujo Huntress PVC Statue Review

12 01 2013

This bird of prey has been a long time coming in my opinion. Kotobukiya welcomes the Huntress into their Bishoujo PVC Statue series. Standing 9.5 inches tall (1/7 scale), Huntress is beautifully sculpted in very sexy costume design. She stands on a Griffon-like statue and comes equipped with her bow staff. Priced at $59.99 (Amazon, kotous.com).

R219 DC Direct Batman Hush series 1: Huntress Action Figure Review

11 08 2012

Going back to the mid 2000’s, this Huntress figure debuted as part of the Batman Hush series 1 action figure line from DC Direct. Stands about 6 inches, this figure is based off the designs of comic legend Jim Lee. The Huntress sports a sexy redesigned costume, nice long flexible cape, removable bow staff, handgun, and stylish pose. Definitely a figure that holds up in the looks department in this day and age of action figure collecting.

San Diego Comic-Con 2012 Want List

9 06 2012

In about a month from now, I’ll be down in San Diego once again for Comic-Con. It’s a crazy weekend of constant standing or walking around for conventions exclusives. I’ll have to remember to wear very comfortable shoes. For once I’m not too worried about getting what I want this year. The big dealers: Hasbro and Mattel, have always posted the majority of their exclusives to their online stores days after the Con for the public to buy at convention prices. The smaller companies are the more important to visit at the Con.

I went through the entire list of SDCC 2012 exclusives and my want list that I really need to pick up at the Con is pretty small (Thank God).

Kotobukiya DC Comics Huntress Bishoujo Statue. Not exactly sure if this is a SDCC exclusive but a few online sources report that she is. She’ll be the first figure I pick up.

Hasbro Marvel Legends Uncanny X-Force (Archangel, Psylocke, Wolverine). How bad ass is this box set? Features 3 awesome characters in my favorite versions of their costumes. Don’t want to gamble on this one being sold online after the Con so I’ll hunting this down while I’m attending.

Bandai S.H. Figuarts Supar Saiyan Gohan Special Color Edition. I already own the 1st version which has a much low key, manga style color palette. You figure I’d be very happy about just staying with that version but come on…I’m a diehard DBZ Fan. The Special Color Edition will have more saturated colors and resemble the anime palette more so there’s a good chance I’ll be picking this version.

Hasbro G.I. Joe Jinx. I love me some G.I. Joe ninjas. Jinx will have 2 different versions available: a classic red and a movie version. I’d like to get this at the Con but I’m OK with pass on her and buying her at http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com

For now that’s my want list. Chances are I will buy other toys while I’m there that aren’t exclusives.

And of course, there’s a good chance I’ll be doing video reviews on them too.
